What Patterns are Included in Crochet Peppa Pig?

The book includes 20 different patterns featuring both main and supporting characters from the Peppa Pig universe, plus a few adorable accessories:

  • Peppa Pig

  • Peppa’s Teddy

  • Princess Outfit

  • Rainy Day Outfit

  • George

  • George’s Dinosaur

  • Baby Evie

  • Evie’s Rubber Duck

  • Mummy Pig

  • Daddy Pig

  • Granny Pig

  • Grandpa Pig

  • Suzy Sheep

  • Pedro Pony

  • Rebecca Rabbit

  • Danny Dog

  • Candy Cat

  • Gerald Giraffe

  • Emily Elephant

  • Freddy Fox

  • Zoe Zebra

Most of the characters range between 4–9” tall. I found the patterns to be straight-forward and easy to follow, with clear instructions and thoughtful details. I especially appreciated that the exact yarn colors are listed since color matching is critical when recreating such recognizable characters. Just note that specific yardage amounts per color aren’t included beyond the standard ball amount.

What Crochet Terminology Does the Book Use?

The patterns are written using US crochet terminology, but there’s a helpful US-to-UK conversion chart on page 9, if needed.

What Skill Level Is Needed to Make the Projects in This Book?

Skill levels are marked clearly using a yarn ball rating system (1 = easy, 2 = intermediate, 3 = advanced) at the top of each pattern’s introduction page. There’s also a brief explanation of the rating system on page 8, which I thought was a nice inclusion. It’s a simple visual cue that helps set expectations for each pattern.

Most of the toys are given a 1 yarn ball rating and based on my experience, I would have rated these patterns with the same rating. None of the toys are overly difficult to make though there are many fiddly, tiny bits to make and sew on. Though, while they are easy toys to make, I would not say that they are beginner-friendly.

What Supports & Resources are Included for Makers?

My favorite feature in terms of maker support is the tension/gauge swatch found on page 9. While gauge isn’t always critical for amigurumi, it’s helpful when you want your finished toys to match the expected size and to avoid running out of yarn partway through a project.

Beyond that, there’s a brief Tools & Materials section and a How to Use This Book section up front. Most of the resources for makers are tucked into the back of the book. The Techniques section (starting on page 120) includes illustrations with corresponding instructions. I appreciated that the instructions are clearly labeled to match the illustrations. This kind of visual support goes a long way in making a book easy to use.

That said, some of the stitches are done slightly differently than what I would consider standard, so I recommend reading through that section before you begin. While the illustrations are helpful, the book doesn’t go beyond that in terms of step-by-step support and there are no support images included with the patterns. So, if you’re new to amigurumi, this may not be the best starting point. It feels more geared toward experienced crocheters already familiar with crocheting amigurumi toys and constructing them.

Final Thoughts on the Crochet Peppa Pig Book

This is an adorable book that’s filled with Peppa Pig goodness.  If you or someone you love is a fan of the show, this book gives experienced amigurumi makers some beautiful patterns to bring their favorite Peppa Pig characters to life.  While not suitable for beginner crocheters or those new to amigurumi, this is a great addition to an amigurumi-lovers library if they need minimal resources beyond clear, well-written patterns to get going.

    • Hi Paula,
If you’re looking for North American stockists for Stylecraft Special DK, they can be found on the stylecraft website here: https://www.stylecraft-yarns.co.uk/find-a-stockist when you click on International.

If you can’t find the Stylecraft Special DK locally then Patons Astra found at Yarnspirations is an excellent substitute for this yarn and has some very close colorways to the ones used in this book.
