Patterns in Animal Amigurumi Adventures ii
This 175 page hardcover book contains 15 new amigurumi animals to make. Those new patterns are:
Safari Animals:

- Zebra
Arctic Animals:
- Beluga Whale
- Harp Seal Pup
- Penguin
- Polar Bear
- Walrus
Pets:

- Guinea Pig
Lauren is known for her easy to follow crochet patterns and this new second volume is no different. Each pattern starts with materials and abbreviation lists and images of the full animal. The patterns include step-by-step reference photos which are helpful for visual learners.
The sizes of each finished product average around 7-10 inches tall / long which is the perfect size if you’re looking for a fun project that won’t take a long time to create.
Supports for Makers
In Animal Amigurumi Adventures Vol. 2, you’ll find the main supports for makers in the front of the book on pages 6 – 22. Stitch and technique tutorials are found starting on page 10 and include detailed photographs of each step of the technique or stitch outlined. This section is thorough and full of user-friendly instructions.
The supports don’t include instructions for making sure your toy turns out to be the listed size given in each pattern which, is not a make-it-or-break-it omission however, know that your toy may be bigger or smaller than the given sizes for each toy because of this omission.
Tools & Materials
Each pattern uses common worsted weight yarn. The specific yarn brands and colors used in each pattern are not listed which I was initially disappointed by however, if you read through the Tools & Materials section on page 6, you’ll see that you can find this information listed on the author’s website. I’m not sure why this was not just included in the book however, if you’re looking for that information, it is available, you just have to go looking for it.
All the patterns use a 3.75mm hook size and although I couldn’t find it mentioned in the book, if you find that using that hook size does not give you a tight fabric and your fabric has holes in it, you may need to adjust your hook size.
Other tools and materials used are safety eyes, scissors, sewing pins, fiberfill stuffing, yarn needle, stitch markers, pipe cleaners, wire pet brush. embroidery floss, felt and a hot glue gun.
Overall, I really enjoyed this fun collection of amigurumi designs and think this is a great book for crocheters of every skill level. The book’s full color photos, detailed instructions and step-by-step photos enable crocheters to make their own collection of cute amigurumi critters with relative ease. This book would be great to gift as well as to have in your own personal crochet library if you’d like to have a fun collection of amigurumi designs on-hand.
