How to Make Crochet Doll Shorts or Pants
Both crochet patterns that I’ve shared today start the same way: You crochet the first leg of the pants and then the second leg is crocheted separately. After both legs are created, we will join the legs together and then crochet the rest of the pants. Both pant legs are worked from the bottom-up and I’ve done this for a very specific reason: so if your gauge is off or you want to be able to customize your pants, you can try them on your own dolls as you go to make sure they will fit them appropriately.
Although the written pattern for these pants create a pair of pants or shorts that is a solid color, there are a few easy ways to customize your pants and shorts to give them a new look. Have fun customizing your doll shorts or pants by:
- using different colors,
- adding stripes,
- embroidering on some small details like flowers or shapes,
- adding various trims / borders and more.
I have had so much fun seeing everyone’s unique color choices and the ways that you have customized your different doll clothes and doll dresses throughout the crochet along so far! If you have an idea to customize the shorts and pants, I’d love to hear about it and / or see it so please share your idea in the comment section below or share photos of your makes in the Loopy Lamb Crochet Community or tag me on social media.

Tips to Make Sure Your Pants or Shorts Fit Your Advent Amy Doll
If you’ve been crochet along with us for the Amigurumi Advent Calendar CAL, make sure that you start off using the same hook size that you have been using for all of the other projects that you have made so far.
If you find that your pants are too tight: try loosening up your tension or going up a hook size until the pants can slide over the doll’s feet and up the legs.
If you find that your pants are too loose: try tightening up your tension or going down a hook size until the pants fit more to your liking.
