Free Crochet Pattern for a C2C Blanket

Woman modelling a gorgeous C2C Blanket made with this free crochet pattern

This free crochet pattern for a C2C blanket is a gorgeous blanket that is an absolute show-stopper. This c2c blanket pattern uses two different colors to create the image on the blanket. Before getting started working on your corner to corner (C2C) blanket, make sure you check out my tips and video tutorials below on how to get started with this technique. This is the perfect blanket to make if you want to impress the recipient with your crochet prowess (without having to be an expert).

I always struggle with naming my projects and this free crochet pattern for a C2C blanket was no exception. The color combination makes me think of Greece (which is on my list of top dream destinations to travel to) and Greek mythology. I was inspired to call this blanket the “It’s All Greek To Me” blanket while crocheting it and seeing one of my Greek mythology textbooks on the shelf. Now that you know some of the inspiration behind the design, let’s get into some C2C basics.

How to Read a C2C Crochet Pattern Color Chart

When you’re working the c2c method, you’ll be crocheting your piece in a diagonal fashion – starting from the lower-right corner (for right-handed crocheters) or the lower-left corner(for left-handed crocheters. You read the c2c chart the same way, starting in the lower-left corner and working diagonally up your chart to the opposite corner.

Using a ruler and pencil/pen to cross off diagonal rows of boxes on your chart as you work will help you to keep track. One box on your chart equals one C2C stitch / cluster in your row. A C2C cluster = CH 2 + 3 double crochet stitches.

NOTES:

  • To work this corner to corner (C2C) graph, begin with the box/tile in the bottom right corner of the graph.  That will be your Row 1. The graph will be read from left to right and then right to left.

  • Each box/tile in the graph corresponds to with one C2C cluster in your row.  A C2C cluster = CH 2 + 3 DC sts.

  • I recommend crossing off each row in the pattern or graph as you complete it to assist you in keeping track.
