Free Holiday Gift Project Tracker

Fall is upon us and crocheters are busily trying to get ready for the holiday giving season. Some of us are not just getting ready for the holidays, we’re prepping for craft shows or stocking Etsy shops to sell handmade gifts as well. I’ve created a printable crochet project planner to help keep track of your crochet projects to help you stay more organized and therefore, less stressed during this busy time of year.

Free Holiday Gift Project Tracker

Sometimes it can be difficult to keep track of what you’re planning to make for everyone on your gift list. I know that if I don’t write things down, I either don’t remember what I wanted to make or I change my mind a hundred times.

One year was particularly stressful. I was so disorganized that I bought WAY too much yarn and ended up crocheting gifts until the very last-minute. One gift I finished IN.THE.CAR. on the way to the recipient’s home. After that, I vowed to be more prepared from then on.

Now, around this time every year, I create my list of what I want to make everyone.  This helps me get an idea of a timeline needed to make sure I complete everything with time to spare. Once I’ve made my decisions on what to make people, I take inventory of my yarn stock and head out to buy my supplies. I don’t let myself change my mind on what to make someone unless I’m ahead of schedule and it’s within budget.

To keep myself organized, I created this free printable crochet planner. This planner has saved me a lot of time during the holiday season and helped me keep my yarn stash from getting completely out of control with unnecessary purchases.

Each page has enough space to document projects for 4 different gift recipients. This project tracker gives you space for:

  • Recipient name
  • Size (in case you are making a garment)
  • Pattern notes
  • Pattern name
  • Pattern source (never forget where you found that pattern again!)
  • Which hook size or crochet hooks you’re using
  • Materials that are needed.
  • Check box to check off completed projects

Everything you need for your holiday project planning all in one place!

Create a crochet binder or crochet project journal by printing out as many pages as you need, hole punching the pages and adding them to a small binder. I like to visit my binder on a daily basis during the busy season to make sure I keep an eye on what still needs to be done. Keep the project planner pages until next year so you can remember what you made everyone this year to avoid repeats and to revisit old favourites!
